Ex-PKR Kanowit chief does not rule out joining PSB

-

SIBU: Former PKR Kanowit chief George Chen does not dismiss the possibility that he will follow in the footsteps of other ex-party leaders in the state to join Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB).

He told The Borneo Post yesterday that he would decide later but for now he would like to keep a low profile.

“Only after the lifting of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) will l call for a meeting with my former committee members whether to follow them or other political platforms to continue our political career,” he said when asked whether he would join PSB too.

Chen and his committee members have resigned from their post in PKR on May 17, blaming the party leadership for the internal squabbles.

On May 30, former PKR Sarawak chief Baru Bian, who is also Ba Kelalan assemblyman, and Stampin chief, See Chee How, who is also Batu Lintang assemblyman, together with more than 20 other former members and leaders officially announced that they had joined

PSB.

Baru told a press conference at PSB headquarters in Kuching that the two main reasons why they chose to join PSB instead of forming a new party, were time constraint due to the state election expected next year, and not to cause further split among Sarawakians.

He added that former PKR members shared a common vision with PSB especially in their desire to see a truly multiracial society living and working together in the spirit of acceptance and inclusiveness.
