Kapit Health Clinic extends opening hours

-

KAPIT: The opening hours of Kapit Health Clinic have now been extended by two hours during working days.

Its new opening hours are from 8am to 7pm daily on Mondays to Fridays.

It will be closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

This was announced by Kapit Health Clinic director Dr Fahani Samat in a statement yesterday.

She explained that the extended opening hours is a pre-emptive preventive measure to minimise exposure to Covid-19 virus by reducing the crowd at the clinic at any one time.

She reminded patients and members of the public to strictly abide by the following measures now adopted by the clinic.

She said each and every patient must strictly adhere to the date and time of appointment with the clinic to avoid congestion at the clinic.

Patients residing near the clinic are encouraged to come to the clinic between 3pm and 7pm, either for attending appointment or walk-in.

The clinic accepts emergency cases during office hours.

Under the new arrangement, patients going for blood test should come after 2pm instead of at 8am as usual, and they are not required to fast overnight.

Patients are also to take note that blood sample taking is now at the old canteen instead of at Room 9 as before.

Vaccine immunisation for students is now carried out next to the old canteen compound.

Patients coming to collect their medicine are advised to go straight to the temporary counter outside the clinic set up by the pharmacy.

It is mandatory for all visitors and patients to undergo body temperature scanning at the counter set up in front of the clinic before entering the clinic.

Any patient with symptoms of Covid-19 such as high fever and severe coughing is advised to go straight to the Red Zone to inform the staffs for Rapid Test Kit to be carried out.

Patients suffering minor fever or headache and occasional coughing are advised to visit the ‘Fever Clinic’ counter.

Dr Fahani emphasised that it is the collective responsibility of all to break the chain of Covid-19 infection.

She advised the public to always practise the highest level of hygiene by regularly washing their hands and to wear face mask and observe social distancing to protect themselves against the disease.
