IBS College initiates campus sanitisation exercise
Being one of the leading higher learning institutions in northern Sarawak and concerned about the current Covid-19 pandemic, IBS College has taken the initiative to sanitise and disinfect the college compound as well as the whole premises for safety. The sanitation exercise in which the director of IBS College, Maleensa Swee Moi Eng, and the entire staff took part was led by college principal, Dr Lau Pun Lee. The programme began with a short briefing by Lau, after which two officers, Edwin Bong and Alvester Jangen, sanitised the offices, classrooms as well as the computer lab. In the afternoon, all the staff of IBS College attended an online meeting through the ‘Zoom’ app with the chairman of IBS College, Dr Antony Hii. In his message, Hii stressed that it was mandatory to maintain social distancing and to abide by the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health. He also advised all the staff of IBS College to remain calm and encouraged the use of digital and online applications to keep in touch with students and parents in terms of learning and teaching. At the end of the meeting, Lau announced a 30 per cent sponsorship for Diploma in Business Administration for SPM leavers taking the course fulltime, and part-time students who are working. He also announced a 50 per cent sponsorship for Diploma in Security and Safety Management. The college’s next intake will start on July 6 and is now open for application.
