Businesses are now forced to face the dreaded consequences of Covid19 which VISTA Eye Specialist (VISTA) also has no exception to the risks. According to a statement, VISTA, one of Malaysia’s leading eye specialists, recently shared its key strategies on riding the rough wave of the pandemic crisis. One of its strategies to thrive was to put itself into three functional teams namely, the ‘Survival’, ‘Today’ and ‘Tomorrow’. The ‘Survival’ team, consisting of the Finance and Human Resource departments, focused primarily on resource sustainability to ensure sufficient cash flow and staff safety, well-being and livelihood. Operations and Marketing departments are responsible for the ‘ Today’ team. They focused on ensuring continuity of operations and preserving the primary source of revenue. The ‘Tomorrow’ team, composed of few talented leaders, formulated forwardthinking strategies to ensure that VISTA seizes every opportunity and thrives from this pandemic. “Thankfully, with full teamwork and trust from our staff, we have been successful with pivoting amidst the uncertainties,” said VISTA chief executive, Boon Siong Lim. “Over our 21 years, we have been through many crises and learnt that it isn’t enough to just survive, but we need to thrive in this pandemic and economic aftermath, by being laserfocused yet stay flexible to pivot and react to this very volatile situation,” said Lim.
