Constructi­on of Unifor office to start September — Uggah

KUCHING: Constructi­on of the 10-storey Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) office complex is expected to start this September, said Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

He mentioned this at a briefing for Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg on the preparatio­ns for a ground-breaking ceremony for the complex during a courtesy call on the latter yesterday.

Proposed to be built on a 1.2hectare site at Ong Tiang Swee Road, the complex is expected to cost about RM70 million and to be completed in two years’ time.

Uggah was leading an entourage from the Unifor Board of Trustees on a courtesy call on the Chief Minister at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia.

Also present during the courtesy call were Local Government and Housing Minister Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion, Assistant Minister of Agricultur­e, Native

Land and Regional Developmen­t Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn, Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing Datu Dr Penguang Manggil, Assistant Minister of Utilities Datuk Liwan Lagang, Parti Rakyat Sarawak secretary-general Dato Janang Bungsu and Tellian assemblyma­n Yussibnosh Balo.
