MCC to revoke licences of errant food operators

- Norni Mahadi

MIRI: The Miri City Council (MCC) will revoke the licences of food operators who do not comply with the conditions stipulated.

Miri Mayor Adam Yii said this includes abiding strictly to the standard operating procedures to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.

“During our previous general food premises operation, we have received feedback from the operators, who were not very clear about the food licensing conditions.

“That is why in the food premises inspection operation today (yesterday), we have printed the list of food licensing conditions and distributed the guidelines list to them,” he told reporters.

Yii said the inspection yesterday sought to raise awareness among food operators of the need for them to comply with the food licensing conditions issued by the council.

The council also presented notices on the need for food handlers to wear face masks, clean and proper attire, practise good hygiene, as well as maintain a high level of cleanliness at the respective premises.
