RM5 mln-GiatMara complex coming up in Limbang
LIMBANG: Facilities at skills institutions here will be upgraded with the construction of a new RM5 million GiatMara complex at Bandar Baharu Limbang next year. Deputy Transport Minister Hasbi Habibollah said the project approval was made known during his recent meeting with Mara director-general Datuk Azhar Abdul Manaf. He added that land acquisition for the project had been completed “The construction of GiatMara complex and a community college are among projects that we, the people’s elected representatives, have been championing for years since 2008. “If Lawas has a Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) Limbang too will have a new GiatMara complex,” he told the media yesterday. He said apart from these two institutions several other major projects are in various stages of implementation in Limbang, which are implemented by the Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA). “The state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg has allocated NRDA RM1.5 billion to implement the mega projects involving infrastructure, welfare, tourism, economy and agriculture. We hope the project implementation are running smoothly,” said Hasbi who is also Limbang MP. On the construction and upgrading of the much awaited phase 4 of Buang Abai/Pengkalan Rejab road, he acknowledged there was a delay in implementation. He said the local people were eagerly waiting for the road since the past 10 years. On completion it will become the main road linking 10 villages in the Limbang river basin.
The construction of GiatMara complex and a community college are among projects that we, the people’s elected representatives, have been championing for years since 2008.
