Team Dynamic donates to school

KUCHING: Team Dynamic Kuching, a local nongovernm­ental organisati­on (NGO) has reached out to SK Song Kheng Hai which resumed classes on Monday amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

They came bearing supplies that included disinfecta­nt, hand sanitisers, stationery and beverages worth RM5,000 to the headmistre­ss Yeo Siew Zhu on Wednesday.

Witnessing the ceremony were mayor of Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Datuk Wee Hong Seng as well as councillor­s Jong Yean Pin and Bong Lian Huan.

Team Dynamic Kuching leader Eric Tay, said they realised the need to offer protection for the school and its pupils from the spread of Covid-19.

According to him, the NGO has engaged in various charitable works and also helped the community solve various problems.

He pledged that Team Dynamic Kuching would continue to help those in need besides reaching out to the school during this trying time.

Tay said he had visited several other schools before this, and observed that the schools did keep a good stock of disinfecta­nt and hand sanitisers in light of the pandemic.

He said such effort constitute­d another expenses for the schools.

“Now that teachers and students are returning to schools under the new normal, preventive measures must be in place to curb the spread of Covid19,” he said.

Tay said he had been in touch with a couple of private firms to donate the necessary supplies to SK Song Kheng Hai to help reduce their burden.

Among those that have offered sponsorshi­ps were Juta Cemerlang Transforma­si Sdn Bhd, Greenzone Hygiene Sdn Bhd and Greenleaf Food & Beverages Sdn Bhd.

Yeo, meanwhile, said school attendance was at 77.9 per cent on Wednesday.

She thanked Tay and his team for reaching out to SK Song Kheng Hai during this trying time.

Now that teachers and students are returning to schools under the new normal, preventive measures must be in place to curb the spread of Covid-19.
