Azizul retains top post in state taekwondo association
KUCHING: Azizul Annuar Adenan has been re-elected as president of Persatuan Taekwondo Negeri Sarawak (WTF) at the association’s 11th Annual General Meeting (AGM) recently.
The AGM and election of the new office bearers was held smoothly and orderly according to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) guidelines with no incidents or objection.
Azizul expressed his profound gratitude to his past executive board committee and its members for their magnanimous efforts, advice, support and presence.
“I am really thankful to all my fellow board members of their united, fair, transparent and harmonious manner during this AGM.
“Their efforts and works carry out for the development of Taekwondo (WTF) in the state is commendable,” he said after the AGM.
Persatuan Taekwondo Negeri Sarawak is the only state governing body for the Taekwondo WTF sport recognised by Taekwondo Malaysia (WTF) and World Taekwondo.
Its members are eligible to participate in Malaysia Games (Sukma), SEA Games, Asia Games and Olympic Games just to name a few.
Azizul said currently the association has 20 affiliate clubs and hundred training centres in all divisions throughout Sarawak.
He said although the trials and challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic have affected some of their activities and programme earlier on, it never disrupt the coaches and athletes’ commitment and desire to continue training.
“Our technical crew had made the efforts to provide Zoom coaching and virtual training sessions during the Movement Control Order (MCO) and the Conditional MCO periods to make sure our athletes never abandoned their training and be prepared all the time,” Azizul said.
“I am confident that with our team of dedicated and acclaimed committee, instructors, together with the enthusiasm and teamwork from our athletes, parent support group, we can still retain our excellent performance in the near future,” he added.
