MP voices out telecommunication coverage issue in Limbang to MCMC
LIMBANG: This division is facing unsatisfactory telecommunication coverage, affecting not only the rural folk but also those living in the urban centres.
In pointing this out, Deputy Minister of Transport Hasbi Habibollah says this issue has been highlighted to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
The Limbang MP acknowledges the problems associated with telecommunication coverage, especially with regard to the upgrading of services from 3G to 4G.
“This problem is really bad here, and this matter was raised to MCMC personnel who came to Limbang recently for a surveymonitoring work.
“On our ( Transport Ministry’s) part, we will build seven more telecommunication substations in several urban areas – the same facilities will also be built in the rural areas,” he said when met after officiating at the launch of the ‘ Merdeka@Komuniti 2020’ programme at Bunga Raya Hall here yesterday.
Those attending the event included Limbang District Council chairman Sufian Mohat, Information Department Sarawak director’s representative Ajes Tuah, Bank Negara Malaysia Kuching Office head Mohd Irman Mohd Din, Limbang District Information officer Linda Padan, and Limbang Resident’s representative Awangku Mohd Shahrizan Mainizan Awangku Mahidin.
On Merdeka@Komuniti 2020, Hasbi said the programme would serve to remind Malaysians to always defend the sovereignty of the nation, and protect it from any form of harm and threats including infiltration of negative cultures and influences.
“Today, many Malaysians are in a comfort zone – enjoying the peace, the prosperity and also the freedom to do many things. Such situation could allow bad influences to infiltrate into our society without us even realising it.
“Thus, let us not be careless and too complacent; instead, reinforce our patriotism.
“We all want to see the spirit of patriotism to always flourish in the hearts of all Malaysians,” he added.
