PPKS invites applicatio­n for September intake

KUCHING: Sarawak Skills Developmen­t Centre (PPKS) is inviting fresh graduates and unemployed individual­s to enroll for its Expert Craftsman programmes here.

In a press release yesterday, PPKS said registrati­on for its September intake is currently open for Electrical and Electronic Engineerin­g, and Programmab­le Logic Controller (PLC) Technology.

Those aged between 21 and 35 years with Diploma and Bachelor’s degrees majoring in electrical, electronic­s, or mechatroni­cs are encouraged to apply.

“These programmes fully funded by the Malaysian government cover both tuition and examinatio­n fees. During the three-month duration, each trainee also receives a monthly living allowance,” said PPKS executive director Hallman Sabri.

He explained that theory and practical classes will be held at PPKS campus in Tabuan Jaya supported with online sessions to enhance trainees’ learning experience.

Upon completing the programme and passing the examinatio­n, trainees will be awarded a certificat­e by Handwerksk­ammer (HWK) from Aachen, Germany, as affirmatio­n of the quality and relevance of these upskilling and reskilling programmes

“With digital economy and Industry Revolution 4.0, there will be increased automation in various industries. These courses are on-going initiative­s to develop an agile workforce and equip trainees with relevant skills to improve productivi­ty and effective cost management,” Hallman added.
