PKR to contest at least 47 seats in state polls — Sng

-

MIRI: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) will be fielding candidates in at least 47 seats for the next state election, says PKR Sarawak chairman Larry Sng.

“Currently, the number of seats with PKR stands at 47. On the name list of the seats, it shall be announced later together with the other Pakatan Harapan (PH) parties,” he said in a WhatsApp reply yesterday.

The Julau MP was asked whether PKR would be contesting in Senadin, Piasau and Pujut – or whether it would leave them to its PH ally Democratic Action Party (DAP), which has traditionally contested these seats.

At the same time, Sng also confirmed that Daro would be one of the 47 seats that PKR would contest in.

The incumbent for Daro is Safiee Ahmad of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), who polled 5,001 votes in the 2016 election, against Ibrahim Bayau of Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah), who managed just 569 votes.
