-

MIRI: SUPP Pujut has successfully helped 65 senior citizens to register for the Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC) through its mobile counter at Pujut Corner Tamu here on Sunday, said its chairman Adam Yii.

He said the party branch has gone to the ground to reach out to those who have either yet to register for the senior citizen’s privilege card or did not know how to apply for the card.

“Our mobile team caters to the public’s need and upon identifying an area where there are senior citizens who face difficulty in applying for the KGC due to not having their own transportation as so on, a mobile counter will be set up there to assist them in applying for the card,” he said.

The Miri City Council mayor pointed out that there are times when an applicant might need more time to apply for KGC due to the documents and personal information required during registration.

“A lot of explanation and patience will be needed for each of these applicants and we are proud that our mobile team has done wonderfully and responsibly,” said Yii.

He also reminded all Sarawakians who are aged 60 and above to register for KGC either at SUPP branches or the State Welfare Department to enjoy the many benefits and discounts.

Alternatively, applicants can log on to KGC’s website at http:// kenyalanggold.com/ to register.
