Rep launches ‘Fly the Jalur Gemilang’ campaign
KAPIT: Bukit Goram assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat yesterday officiated at the ‘Fly the Jalur Gemilang’ campaign at the New Bazaar here.
During the function, Jamit distributed the national flag and face masks to owners of coffee shops and restaurants who are members of the Kapit Coffee Shop and Restaurant Owners’ Association (KCROA) and also customers at the premises.
The patriotic event is a joint activity organised by the Kapit Information Department and KCROA. Kapit Information officer Abdul Aziz Abdul Karim said the objective of the campaign was to inculcate the spirit of nationalism and patriotism and love for the country.
“During the Month of Independence, various patriotic activities are organised to commemorate the occasion.
“What is important is we all must have the sense of belonging and pride to be Malaysians living in peace and harmony despite our diversity in race, religion and culture,” he added.
