“All of them, 12 men and five women, are found to have violated the SOP under the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) as gazetted by the government.

“As such, they were issued the compound in accordance to Regulation 3 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within Infected Local Areas) (No 7) Regulations 2020 for not complying with the prescribed SOP,” said Awang Din in a statement here yesterday.

The compounds, he added, must be paid to the Kuching

“Police will continue to take stern action against those who do not observe the SOP, as the nation fights to break the Covid-19 chain of infection.”

Awang Din said the compound would act as a reminder to the public, calling upon them to always adhere to the SOP set by the Ministry of Health.

He also reminded the public, especially premises operators and customers, would always heed the government’s recommendations during the RMCO and comply with the SOP to curb further spread of Covid19.
