BINTULU: The Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association (Macma) Bintulu branch chairperson Norhayati Abdullah is commi ed to carrying out more ‘dakwah’ (religious preaching) activities in the future.

The activist said a special recognition accorded to her by the Sarawak Islamic Council recently served as an encouragement for her to continue spreading the good teachings in Islam to the local community. Norhayati was the recipient of the ‘ Special Dakwah Activist Award’, presented in connection with this year’s statelevel Maulidur Rasul celebration in Kuching

The award also came with a cash contribution of RM5,000.

“(On) the winning prize, I wish to use it to help more less-fortunate people. I plan to buy one bed for Bintulu Hospital, and a television for the inmates in Bintulu Correctional Centre,” she said.

On a separate subject, Norhayati expressed her hope for the national Budget 2021 to include more injections of financial assistance to support the B40 and M40 groups, as well as the frontliners.

“More special allowances should be given to the frontliners in recognition of their sacrifices,” she added.
