MYHackatho­n 2020 to help human resource devt achieve IR4.0

KUALA LUMPUR: MY Hackathon 2020, a programme looking to provide online solutions for the government and private sectors, is important to the country’s human resource developmen­t heading towards Industrial Revolution 4.0, says Science, Technology and Innovation Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin.

“Through this programme, the ministry welcomes any interested party to compete and find solutions to improve the experience of those who have to interact with the government ministries, department­s or agencies in the new normal following the Covid-19 pandemic.

“This programme will encourage the growth of ideas and creativity, improve time management and social interactio­n, as well as sharpen communicat­ion skills.”

Khairy said this in his speech via video broadcast at the prizegivin­g ceremony of the Kuala Lumpur round of MY Hackathon Digitalisi­ng Government Services shared live on Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd’s Facebook page yesterday.

with his My ID Payment project, while the third place went to Muhammad Shuhaily Mohd Jasmany with his project, Malaysia 1 Identifica­tion (My1_ iD). They won cash prizes of RM10,000, RM7,500 and RM5,000 respective­ly.

Meanwhile, Gokula Krishnan Subramania­m with the project, Vircle Trusted Aid; Beh Huey Ching with the project, Malaysia National Digital Identity (MyID); and Rashidee Mohd Rashid with his MyOKU project emerged as winners in the marathon category and won conditiona­l grants of up to RM250,000 to fund their pioneer projects for the next 12 months.

The MYHackatho­n 2020 programme, organised by Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd, is an annual national hackathon event under the Short-term Economic Recovery Plan (Penjana).

The next rounds of MYHackatho­n 2020 will be held in Kuala Terengganu, Johor Bahru, Kuching, Penang and Kota Kinabalu before culminatin­g in the final ‘ Battle of the Best’ round in Cyberjaya next month.
