Assemblyma­n thanks CM, GPS for projects in Bukit Goram

KUCHING: Bukit Goram assemblyma­n Jefferson Jamit has thanked Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS)-led state government for the developmen­t projects planned and implemente­d in his constituen­cy.

“Various projects have been approved and successful­ly completed, while others are in various stages of constructi­on and implementa­tion during my four years as assemblyma­n for Bukit Goram,” he said in his debate on the 2021 State Budget in the State Legislativ­e Assembly recently.

He noted that among the major projects implemente­d were the redevelopm­ent of Kapit Town Square at a cost of RM3 million, which was completed and declared open by the Chief Minister recently; and the beautifica­tion works on Lily Pond Kapit, costing RM12 million.

Other projects included the developmen­t of the Kapit Waterfront Phase II at a cost of RM5 million that had reached completion; the Kapit multipurpo­se carpark, built at a cost of RM12 million; and the riverbank and slope protection works on the existing Kapit Waterfront worth RM3.8 million.

Jamit also listed the exit road project at Kapit Hospital, which is now under constructi­on at a cost of RM2.64 million; and the constructi­on of Jalan Sungai Meluan/Nanga Setepus Kapit costing RM53.6 million, which took off early this year and is still under constructi­on.

“The constructi­on of Jalan Nanga Ibau/Ulu Sungai Ibau (Phase 1) at a cost of RM58.9, which is still in progress; and the constructi­on of Sungai Kapit Bridge at a cost of RM12.7 million, which is progressin­g well, are also among the projects,” he said.

Jamit added that the RM5million jungle produce and wet market project, and the Nanga Melipis ferry service project were also being implemente­d.
