Covid-19: No new cases reported in Sarawak yesterday

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded no new cases of Covid-19 yesterday, says State Disaster Management Commi ee (SDMC) in a statement, thus maintainin­g the total number of positive cases in the state at 1,065.

There are six active clusters in the state, namely Besi Cluster, Jalan Abell Cluster, Baki Cluster, Seladah Cluster, Greenhill Cluster and Wisma Saberkas Cluster, all in Kuching. There is no new cluster.

SDMC also said there were no recovery and discharge cases yesterday.

“As of today (Wednesday), 1,031 cases or 96.81 per cent of total cases have recovered and discharged.

“Fi een cases are still being treated at hospitals’ isolation wards - nine are at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), four in Miri Hospital and two in Sibu Hospital,” it said.

As for Person-UnderInves­tigation (PUIs), there was only one new case.

This brings the cumulative number of PUIs to 10,754 todate.

As for Person-UnderSurve­illance (PUS), there are 244 individual­s who have checked into hotels for their compulsory quarantine as of yesterday. This brings the total number of PUS to 4,011 individual­s at 38 hotels and non-hotel quarantine centres statewide.

The number of those who have completed their quarantine period is 35,403.

With no deaths reported, the state’s death toll remains at 19 or 1.78 per cent of the total cases.

Kuching and Miri districts remain as Yellow zones with a total of 11 locally transmi ed cases, nine in Kuching and two in Miri reported within the past 14 days. The other 38 districts are Green.
