KUCHING: Integrated health supplement company Bioalpha Holdings Bhd (Bioalpha), through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Bioalpha International Sdn Bhd (BISB), has entered into a collaboration agreement with Ritamix Global Limited (Ritamix) during a signing ceremony yesterday at Biolapha’s headquarter in Bangi, Selangor.

Ritamix is listed on the Main Board of Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX).

Under the Agreement, Bioalpha is appointed as a contract manufacturer to manufacture and supply a longevity dietary supplement with formulation containing the highly sought-after ?nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) compound for Ritamix.

Ritamix shall distribute the product in Malaysia and other Southeast Asian countries, as well as China, including Hong Kong. Duration of the contract is for five years and will commence upon the signing of Agreement.

“Our partnership with Ritamix represents an important development for Bioalpha as we maintain the growth momentum in expanding our customer and product base,” Bioalpha managing director William Hon said at the signing ceremony.

“We are grateful to have the trust from Ritamix to manufacture this NMN longevity supplement, backed by our solid

track record of 15 years in the health supplement industry.

“We expect to receive the first batch of orders from Ritamix by the first quarter of financial year 2021 (1QFY21), which will be produced at our Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)certified plant in Bangi.”

“The supplement product contains the NMN compound that can help restore energy and reduce typical signs of ageing such as gradual weight gain.

“As one ages, the body gradually loses capacity to make a key element of energy production and DNA repair called nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+).

“Having low or reducing level of NAD+ contributes towards declining energy levels and is linked to onset of several

age-related diseases including neurodegenerative diseases and metabolic disorders.”

UTM senior lecturer and research fellow Dr. Lee Ting Hun was present as the guest-ofhonour at the signing ceremony.

He is a pioneer in carrying out nutraceutical and functional food research in Malaysia, having invented and innovated numerous processes on herbal products.

Dr. Lee’s contribution has earned him the Malaysian Scientist Award and the Geneva Invention and Innovation Award in 2004.

Meanwhile, Ritamix chairman and chief executive officer Dato’ Sri Howard Lee Haw Yih commented that they are excited and look forward to launching this highly sought-after NMN

product in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, as well as China, including Hong Kong.

“NMN products are very popular and highly in demand in overseas markets such as the US and China due to its longevity properties, as well as its immunity boosting effects,” Howard said.

“We are very familiar with and have good knowledge in the NMN and NAD+ boosters, having been distributing NMN products for cats and dogs.

“We believe now is the right time for us to expand our focus into offering NMN products for humans. As our facilities are catered for animal products, we have chosen to work with Bioalpha to deliver high quality NMN product for human consumption.
