Chief Minister serious in attending to people’s welfare — Repok rep

SARIKEI : The Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg is serious in ensuring that the welfare of the people is always accorded due attention and wants all GPS elected representa­tives to visit their respective constituen­cies regularly. This is according to Repok assemblyma­n Dato Sri Huang Tiong Sii.

“The chief minister wanted all projects promised by him in conjunctio­n with his official visit to particular places and projects under rural transforma­tion project ( RTP), minor rural projects and others promised by elected representa­tives to be delivered accordingl­y,” he added.

He made these remarks during a community developmen­t programme organized by Sarikei District Office at several longhouses in the outskirts of Sarikei over the last weekend.

Huang said that he was glad to be part of the GPS delivery system as he had been directly involved in the implementa­tion of projects for the benefit of the people in Repok over the past four years.

“Abang Johari announced many big projects throughout the state and Sarikei was not left out as we have our share through the implementa­tion of Sungai Pasi/ Tanjung Manis/ Sibu Road which included a bridge over Batang Rajang; Sungai Baji Agropark, Integrated Administra­tive Centre and several others in nearby Pakan, julau and Tanjung Manis,” he added.

He called on the people to stand firm behind GPS to ensure an uninterrup­ted delivery of developmen­t projects to their area.

He also advised them to work closely with various government agencies in order to enjoy optimal benefits from their various programmes.

The longhouses given the honour to host the programme were Rumah Jalang in Ulu Paoh; Rumah Setia in Ulu Minus; Rumah Gundak , Sungai Paoh and Rumah Musit, Sungai Kesuli near here.
