Public warned against unverified news in social media

SIBU: Sibu Division Disaster Management Commi ee coordinato­r Dr Annuar Rapaee urges people to be wary of unverified news circulatin­g in social media on Covid-19 cases here.

panic, with the latest WhatsApp message yesterday claiming 459 cases in the state and 340 cases in Sibu.

“This is not funny but a serious ma er. Do not confuse the people. My advice is stop spreading and do not believe fake news,” he added during his daily Facebook live stream Covid-19 update in Sibu yesterday.

Meanwhile, yesterday Sibu recorded 104 cases with 52 cases in Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) area, 36 cases in Sibujaya and 16 cases in Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) area.
