Welfare Dept distribute­s 583 food baskets to EMCO areas in Kapit

KAPIT: The Welfare Department has distribute­d 583 food baskets to households affected by the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) here.

Kapit Welfare officer Dariel Thiong said the assistance was for communitie­s under lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic in

Kapit, Belaga, and Bukit Mabong districts.

He said the food aid sought to lighten the burden of those required to stay at home to stop the spread of the virus.

In Kapit, the areas under lockdown are Taman Gelong; Tatai Kenyalang; Rumah

Jandok, Ulu Sungai Yong; Simpang Sesawa, Bukit Goram; Simpang Nyong, Bukit Goram; Rumah Jimali; Rumah Richard Genturong Puan Sri Tiong; Rumah Mathew Bena; Rumah Mangan, Sungai Menuan; and Rumah Midin Pelajau.

In Belaga, Uma Nyaving,

Sungai Asap is being placed under EMCO.

In Bukit Mabong, the areas under lockdown are Rumah Ajai, Sungai Majau; Rumah Anchi, Majau; Rumah Inguh, Sungai Paku; Rumah Mansai, Majau; and Rumah Robin Ungkong.
