SM Pei Min continues with CNY contests for students
MIRI: The pandemic did not stop SM Pei Min here from holding virtual activities and contests for students to celebrate the Chinese New Year (CNY) .
Between Jan 23 and Feb 5, the various festive themed contests held were CNY singing, CNY essay writing, Lantern Riddle, CNY general knowledge, CNY greeting cards designing, Chinese paper cu ing, CNY ornament design and Chinese calligraphy contest.
“These contests are part of our yearly programme for our students to embrace the spirit of Spring festival and to appreciate traditional Chinese culture,” said the school management in a statement.
Organised by the school’s Curricular department in collaboration with various school clubs including Chinese Club, Art Club, Chinese Calligraphy Club, the .
was not about the winning but rather an interesting way to lighten the festive mood for our students and teachers, added the statement.
“We put these contests online for students to participate. Entries were judged on creativity and authenticity. We were amazed with the effort and creativity of student works submi ed and judging took a bit of time,” it stated.
Winners were announced on Thursday with prize presentation to be held when school reopens.
