KAPIT: The first phase of the four-day Covid-19 immunisation programme here began on Friday with the frontliners at Sri Baleh multipurpose hall.

Among the first to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine were Bukit Goram assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat, Kapit Resident Nyurak Keti, and Kapit Health officer Dr Hamidi Mohd Sharkawi.

“No feeling of pain when the nurse injected the dose. Very fast and simple, I didn’t even feel it. Everything felt good, there was nothing unusual. I feel good and everything went on very smoothly. Now having been vaccinated, I can tell you, vaccination is safe and painless. I would like to appeal to all of you to grab the opportunity to receive the governmentsponsored Covid-19 injection in order to boost the antibodies against the virus,” said Jamit

Jamit pointed out the vaccine was necessary to protect oneself and loved ones.

He, thus, called upon the people to register for the vaccination programme and to play their role in stopping the pandemic.

“Everything went smoothly.

There’s no side effect as feared by some people,” said Nyurak, who also did not experience any issue after receiving first dose of the vaccine.

“There is nothing to worry about. I had my injection and everything’s fine. This proves that the vaccination is safe. Hurry and register with MySejahtera or fill in the particulars at health clinics, Kapit Hospital, or the Kapit District Office,” said Dr Hamidi.

Those who had been vaccinated would receive their second dose on the 21st day after their first injection.
