Man arrested for alleged drug possession
KUCHING: A 28-year-old man was arrested by Bau police on suspicion of illegal drugs possession during an operation at Kampung Bobak, at around 11.30am on Friday.
District police chief DSP Poge Nyaon, who confirmed the arrest, said the man would remain in detention pending investigation conducted under Section 12(2) of Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
“Police were conducting a patrol over the area when they saw the suspect, who was acting suspiciously at the time.
“Upon inspection, he had a pouch inside which, there was a small plastic packet containing substance believed to be methamphetamine, and another that contained what appeared to be three Erimin 5 pills,” said Poge, adding that the man also tested positive for methamphetamine.
