Big charity drive by ITF Sarawak

-

KUCHING: ITF Sarawak launched its annual Chinese New Year charity drive recently with the aim of instilling the importance of the ITF TaeKwon-Do core values that had been taught to its members.

ITF Sarawak chief instructor Master Johnny Chai said charity work was one of the ways to ensure all members learned the values and encouraged them to practice their social responsibility towards the needy in the society.

The association presented 200 packets of 10kg rice, 13 boxes of dried noodles and 200 packets of sugar to Sarawak Hun Nam Siang Tng chairman Tay Boon Sin last Saturday.

Chai said ITF TaeKwon-Do emphasised the ‘DO’ which means the way of life in all its teachings. He added that ITF Sarawak has continuously donated basic rations to the same charity body for more than 30 years and had passed down the practice to many generations of its black belt holders.

The Sarawak TaeKwonDo Association ITF (ITF Sarawak) is currently running a recruitment drive at all affiliated school clubs and training centres.
