Donor contributes computers to childcare centre via Hope Place

-

KUCHING: Hope Place Kuching delivered two sets of desktop computers to Kanak D’Wira childcare centre here recently.

The non-governmental organisation (NGO) founder Kelvin Wan said the computers were sponsored by a donor who wished to help the needy schoolgoing children.

“This centre, which takes care of more than 50 underprivileged children, is continuously doing its best to provide good education and care for their students,” he said in a statement yesterday.

According to Wan, the computers would help these children with their online learning since they are unable to go for class lessons at school.

“It is vital for them to have access to computers and the Internet,” he said.

On hand to receive the computers from Wan was Kanak D’Wira principal Jap Siew Moi during a simple handing-over ceremony held at the learning centre located at Taman Swee Joo here recently.

Hope Place and Kanak D’Wira jointly extended their appreciation to the donor.

All donations to Hope Place Kuching are welcome, and receipts would be issued upon request.

One can donate directly to Maybank account 5112-8900-1160 (made payable to ‘Persatuan Kebajikan Harapan Kuching), or by scanning the Sarawak Pay QR code displayed on Hope Place Kuching’s Facebook page.

The NGO centre at Tabuan Tranquility here is open from 8am to 5pm, Mondays-Fridays; and from 8am to noon on Saturdays.
