Bintulu Rotarians announce third ‘Hope Meal’ project partner
BINTULU: The Rotary Club of Bintulu Central (RCBC) has announced its third participating partner for its community food project.
Kampung Seafood House, located near the traffic light at Jalan Sibiyu in Kampung Baru here, is the latest participant of RCBS’s ‘Hope Meal’ project.
The other two partners are Popular Corner Food Centre and Naz Café.
The mechanism for the Hope Meal project is that those from the needy groups could request for a meal set, complete with beverage, for free at these three participating food premises – each displaying the ‘Hope Message’ stickers on the whiteboard provided by RCBC.
According to RCBC secretary Linnie Lee, the Hope Meal sets would be provided during the operating hours of each food outlet.
“The nutritionally-balanced meal, complete with a drink, can be claimed from these participating premises at any time – there’s no identification check, and the food is fully paid for by the kind donors.
“Please approach the counter of each food outlet for more information,” she said in a statement.
Customers wishing to donate by paying forward for these ‘Hope Meal’ sets could do so by purchasing the ‘Hope Message’ stickers – priced at RM5 apiece – at any of the three food premises.
“The RCBC appreciates the participation in and donation for our Hope Meal project, which aims to provide meals to the needy folk in Bintulu.
“We call for more local participation to keep the project going,” she added.
The project is a joint community work between RCBC and local food premises, those from the public and corporate sector, as well as individual sponsors.
For now, its major sponsor is the La er Day Saint Charities.
Hope Meal is a part of RCBC’s community food project, ‘Hope, Not Hunger’.
In addition, the movement also runs the ‘Hope Parcel’ project, which goes out to help bedridden individuals who are registered under the Welfare Department.
