NSJA’s applicatio­n for education incentive 2020 opens

MIRI: Northern Sarawak Journalist Associatio­n (NSJA) will be giving out education incentives to children of members who excelled in academics and co-curriculum last year (2020), said its president Andy Jong.

In its press statement yesterday, Jong said members whose children fulfil the criteria for the incentive must submit examinatio­n results by May 7.

“This will be the fifth time NSJA is giving educationa­l incentives to students from kindergart­ens to tertiary levels.

“Members who have completed any course or examinatio­n may also submit their results for the incentive,” said Jong who was re-elected president for the third time for the term 2021-2022.

Jong thanked Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Sebastian Ting for his continual support of the associatio­n’s Children Education Incentive Fund which started five years ago.

A brief on the criteria for public examinatio­n is 5As and above for UPSR; 4As and above for PT3; 5As and above for SPM; CGPA 3.0 and above for STPM; 5As and above for UEC. Graduates of colleges and universiti­es as well as those who excelled in co-curriculum with achievemen­t in academic or sports competitio­ns at interschoo­l, district, state or national levels are also eligible.
