Sixty frontliners in Tatau complete their two-dose Covid-19 vaccination
TATAU: Some 60 frontliners in this district have completed their Covid-19 vaccination.
They received their second-dose jabs during a drive that took place Tatau Sports Hall last Saturday a ernoon.
From this group, 18 people are Ministry of Health (MoH) personnel, while the rest are frontliners from the district office, Royal Malaysia Police, Fire and Rescue Department, Bintulu Development Authority and Education Department.
They received their first dose of the Pfizer BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine on March 20 this year.
Volunteers from Welfare Department Sarawak helped facilitate the vaccination programme here. When met yesterday, Tatau/ Sebauh District Education officer Samri Suhaili said he experienced no side effects a er receiving the jab. He added: “I would like to thank the Malaysian government, especially the MoH, for providing vaccination to all Malaysians, including the civil servants.
“I call upon all educators who have yet to register for the vaccination programme, to do so.
“For those who have not been vaccinated yet, please be patient because this programme needs to be carried out smoothly according to certain phases.”
Meanwhile, Nelson Pang – a firefighter based at Tatau station – said he was grateful to be listed under the first group to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.
Just like Samri, he encouraged the people to go register for the vaccination programme as it could help them protect not only themselves, but also their loved ones.
