PSB Mambong completes second batch of rice distribution

-

Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) Mambong has completed the second batch of rice distribution to every household in the constituency.

Its acting chairman Sanjan Daik said the batch involved villages in the eastern upper Padawan (Biannah group).

He said like in the first batch, they distributed 500 packets of rice (10 kg each) to eight villages in the area.

“The distribution work was very challenging as many villages are situated in hilly areas.

“Also, many roads leading to the villages are steep hills forcing us to rent a 3-tonne lorry and four-wheel drive vehicles to transport the rice,” he said.

The villages that received the rice in the second batch were Anah Rais (249 households), Sadir (92), Sibuang (28), Sibakar (34), Simuti (57), Biya Jaber (49), Timurang (42), Braaan Bidak (49)

Sanjan said the distribution was done between May 1 and 4.

The rice distribution exercise began with villages in the eastern part of Padawan (the Tibia area), starting with Sapit near the Indonesian border before moving downwards to the Tibia area in late April. Every household was given a packet (of rice) to ease the people’s burden during this control movement control order (CMCO) period. No one was left out.

The distribution of rice was done in the villages‘ community halls.
