Lee: MDDMC to announce more stringent SOPs soon
MIRI: Miri Division Disaster Management Committee (MDDMC) will announce more stringent standard operating procedures (SOPs) soon, in view of the surging Covid-19 positive cases in the division.
The committee’s minister incharge, Datuk Lee Kim Shin, in a statement yesterday said the decision to tighten the SOPs has been agreed by the representatives of all agencies of the committee.
“The proposed SOPs have been brought to the attention of the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) to be approved and to be announced,” said Lee.
The Minister of Transport urged the public to give full cooperation to the government and strictly comply with the SOPs, to curb the spread of Covid-19 infection.
“Miri district previously remained a green zone for a very long period of time before the Bay Sayap cluster in January this year. I believe we can achieve it again with strict compliance and self-discipline from everyone,” said Lee.

to not make inter-zone travel for the upcoming festivities, unless for emergency or work commitment, to prevent further spread of the virus.
As for those who have registered for the vaccination programme, Lee reminded them to constantly check their MySejahtera application so to not miss out on their vaccination appointment.
Currently, notification for the vaccination is sent only through the application.
The meeting yesterday, chaired by Lee through Zoom, was also attended by MDDMC chairman Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusuf who is also the acting Resident of Miri, Miri Division health officer Dr P. Raviwharmman and Miri Hospital director Dr Jack Wong.
