PSB Kota Samarahan team to continue vaccination registration drive

-

KUCHING: Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) Kota Samarahan representative Datuk Lau Pang Heng and his team is continuing their drive to get more people in the area to register for the Covid-19 vaccination programme.

They call on those who have not registered for the vaccination to do so by going to 919 Café, Seng Goon Garden, Lot 913, Lorong Taman Seng Goon 3, 93250 Kuching on May 13 from

9am to 11am.

Lau in a statement yesterday said that PSB Kota Sentosa will be holding vaccination registration exercises every Thursday morning at different locations and would give advance notices of the location.

“As of May 10, 2021, the government reported that in Sarawak, 1,117,385 applicants have already been registered for vaccination, but so far only 113,769 have been vaccinated.

“Sadly, that would mean that those 1,003,616 persons who have registered have yet to get their first dose,” he said.

“Every individual vaccinated is a step in the right direction. But we still need to continue to follow our safety precautions and SOPs, foreseeable to continue for a long time.”

Lau also urged the relevant authorities to give priority to elderly members of the society as well as frontliners such as hawkers, taxi drivers, retailers, coffee shop owners and their assistants, cooks, motor repair shop mechanics and their owners.

In his opinion, these groups of people are in constant contact with various members of the public day in and day out.

“We applaud the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin’s announcement that once there are more vaccines available, the government will be vaccinating the workers in the manufacturing and production industries, not forgetting the farmers and the fishermen.

“That to us is good news,” he said.
