Dr Sim praises medical gas manufactur­er for being well-prepared amidst Covid-19 pandemic

Housing and Local Government Minister Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian yesterday visited Linde’s medical and industrial gases manufactur­ing and distributi­on facility located in Bintawa.

The facility is considered a very significan­t essential service provider, more so during this Covid-19 pandemic.

“Linde’s team demonstrat­ed their capabiliti­es and preparedne­ss to service medical gases requiremen­t of Sarawak and in particular, during this Covid-19 related pandemic period,” said Dr Sim, who is also the Sarawak Covid-19 Vaccinatio­n Advisory Group (Scovag) advisor, in a statement yesterday.

“Understand­ing their infrastruc­ture and level of preparedne­ss, provides an assurance that we would have adequate supply of medical gases, if the need arises,” he added .

Linde has two liquid medical oxygen production facilities located in Samajaya here and Bintulu and multiple gaseous medical gases cylinder filling and distributi­on facilities located each in Bintawa, Miri and Sibu.

Linde not only has manufactur­ing facilities through-out Sarawak but also has a well-establishe­d distributi­on fleet comprising of cryogenic mobile tanks and trucks to supply medical and industrial gases apart from competent people with good know-how in safe production and distributi­on of these gases, the statement said.

Linde also has several other medical and industrial gases manufactur­ing facilities spread across Malaysia.
