Sen Sen branches help out in council’s ‘Community Pantry’ programme
KUCHING: The Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) chairman Dato Peter Minos is happy to announce that four branches of Sen Sen Trading – those at Samarindah, Desa Ilmu, Mile 10 and Serian areas – are also helping out with the council’s ‘Community Pantry’ programme.
This was said in a statement issued in connection with his visits to Teck Kong and Unaco outlets on Thursday, and the BB and Sen Sen supermarkets yesterday, to convey his thanks and to also assist in the distribution of meals and food aid.
Minos was accompanied by the Community Pantry organising chairman Dato Sim Kiang Chiok and several MPKS officials during these visits.
The aid presentation at 3pm yesterday was conducted according to the set standard operating procedures (SOP) to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
“The lockdowns have severely affected the incomes of many employees, especially the dailypaid ones, and those retrenched after most businesses and factories were forced to close down.
“There are assistance packages being provided by the state and federal governments this month, which would bring the muchneeded relief to many residents. However, there are still some people who need assistance during these trying times.
“If you know anyone who needs assistance, please tell the 13 Community Pantry stations at 3pm from July 4 to 12, which are Aiman Mall, Emart, Farley, H&L, Lepapa, Unaco, Choice, Everwin, BB, Everise Supermarkets Kota Samarahan, Teck Kong (lunch meal aid to be run until July 10 ), the four Sen Sen branches and eight CS supermarkets at selected branches in Kuching,” said Sim in the statement.
“With the fast rollout of the Covid-19 vaccines, we can move out from the lockdown soon, or by end of August when we can achieve 80 per cent herd immunity.
“Until then, we must comply strictly with the SOPs even if we have already received two doses of the vaccine,” added Sim.
