Assistant minister briefed on vaccinatio­n programme at Agape Centre

SIBU: Assistant Minister of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Developmen­t Datuk Francis Harden Hollis was briefed on the vaccinatio­n programme during his visit to the Agape Centre here yesterday.

The briefing was presented by the programme coordinato­r Dr Toh Teck Hock.

Speaking to reporters later, Harden expressed his hope that Agape Centre could help speed up the vaccinatio­n programme so that Sarawak could complete all vaccinatio­n drives within August.

“I was told that 1,550 individual­s with disabiliti­es and their parents had received their first dose last month, and this month they would receive their second dose; today (yesterday) 350 people have come for their second vaccinatio­n,” he said.

Yesterday was the second day of vaccinatio­n programme – the next round of vaccinatio­n at the Agape Centre would be July 22 and 23.

Harden congratula­ted the organisati­ons at Agape Centre for the success of the vaccinatio­n programme and for their effort in helping individual­s with disabiliti­es.

“It is not easy to run this centre. I look at the services delivered

and I would like congratula­te all organisati­ons in Agape Centre for their cooperatio­n and collaborat­ion,” he said.
