LePaPa Aiman Mall donates 200 food packs under ‘Community Pantry’ drive
KOTA SAMARAHAN: LePaPa Hypermarket Aiman here donated 200 food packs to needy individuals yesterday, in connection with Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS)’s ‘Community Pantry’ initiative.
The items were jointly presented by Minister for Local Government and Housing Sarawak Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, MPKS chairman Dato Peter Minos, and Tecktonic & Sons Holdings Sdn Bhd managing director Lee Chin Teck.
LePaPa Hypermarket general manager Bong Teck Pyng was also present.
LePaPa Hypermarket is a subsidiary of Tecktonic & Sons Holdings.
Meanwhile, LePaPa would officially open its latest outlet at Jalan Jambusan, Bau next week.
“LePapa Hypermarket first opened its doors on Aug 30, 2019 in Serian. The expansion continues with our branches in Galacity (Kuching), Jalan Matang (Kuching) and Aiman in Kota Samarahan.
“Next week, we’re going to open another outlet in Bau,” Lee told reporters when met yesterday, adding that the next opening would be a 30,000-square-foot branch in Sri Aman, and another 38,000-square-foot outlet at Taman Malihah in Kuching.
“Currently, LePaPa has about 400 employees. For LePaPa Aiman, we are providing 80 job opportunities to the local residents, as well as providing shopping convenience to Kota Samarahan households,” he added.
In his remarks, Minos thanked the LePaPa chain for its participation in the ‘Community Pantry’ programme, which is headed by Dato Sim Kiang Chiok.
According to Kiang Chiok, a total of 700 food packs have been distributed by participating supermarkets such as Farley, Aiman Mall, Emart, H&L, LePapa, Unaco, Choice, Everwin, BB, Everise Kota Samarahan, Sen Sen dan CS.
Today marks the conclusion of the ‘Community Pantry’ programme.
