KUCHING: Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (Yadim) Sarawak has contributed 300 bags of dry food items and 300 units of cleaning kits to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) under the foundation’s ‘Sumbangan Masaadah Covid-19 3.0’ programme.

According to Yadim Sarawak director Awang Dulhadi Awang Mat, the contributions are meant for the Covid-19 patients and also frontliners at the hospital.

“In addition, we have also contributed 30 units of emergency LED lights to the PKRC (Covid-19 low-risk treatment and quarantine centre) at Sarawak Sports and Youth Centre in Kuching. The total contribution is worth about RM12,000,” he said when met by reporters at SGH yesterday.

Awang Dulhadi said the latest series of Yadim’s nationwide programme was launched by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri on July 9 to provide ‘masaadah’ (support in Arabic) to the frontliners by covering some of the necessities needed by them and also their patients.

“We also donated 50 cartons of drinking water to hospitals under this programme last year,” said Awang Dulhadi, adding that throughout last month, Yadim Sarawak had made contributions to vaccination centres (PPVs) and PKRCs in Lundu, Bau, Gedong and Simunjan districts.

“Since January (this year), we have distributed 918 food packs to needy families throughout Sarawak, and this is on top of the aid given to flood victims in the past few months.

“Aside from the frontliners, we also focus on the needy groups placed under the quarantine order at home, those unemployed due to Movement Control Order (MCO) and the hardcore poor community.”

Awang Dulhadi said those in need of food aid and other assistance could contact Yadim Sarawak’s hotline 013-292 0214 (WhatsApp).

“On the WhatsApp text message, provide your personal details including your name, MyKad number, valid address, your number of dependants and the difficulties that you are facing.

“Inshaa Allah (God-willing), we would verify the information and come to provide help,” said Awang Dulhadi.
