PDRM to ensure smooth running of next state election, assures CP Sarawak

KAPIT: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) are ever ready to work closely with the Election Commission (EC) and other agencies to make sure the smooth running of the election a er the end of the Emergency Order next year.

This was amongst the points stated in a brief speech given by Sarawak Commission­er of Police (CP) Datuk Aidi Ismail during his working visit to the district police headquarte­rs (IPD) here yesterday.

“We strive to ensure that law and orders would prevail.

“Everything is in order – we are well-prepared; we have enough manpower.

“OCPD (Kapit police chief) DSP Freddy Bian has briefed me on the readiness of the police for the state election in Kapit,” he said.

Adding on, Aidi said it was his first official visit to IPD Kapit following his appointmen­t as CP Sarawak in in February last year.

It was informed that next on his itinerary yesterday was a visit to Song police station.

Sarawak Police Contingent head of management SAC Gilbert Philip Layang and Sibu police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit were also present.
