AmBank Islamic recognised at the Global Banking & Finance Awards 2021

KUALA LUMPUR: AmBank Islamic Bhd (AmBank Islamic) has recently garnered three awards at the Global Banking & Finance Awards 2021 whereby for the second consecutiv­e year, AmBank Islamic has been named as the Best Islamic Corporate Bank Malaysia and the Best Islamic SME Bank Malaysia, whilst the chief executive officer (CEO) of AmBank Islamic, Eqhwan Mokhzanee, was awarded Islamic Banking CEO of the Year Malaysia for the third consecutiv­e year.

Commenting on the winnings, the chairman of AmBank Islamic, Datuk Seri Abdul Hamidy Abdul Hafiz said, “We are truly honoured to be conferred with these prestigiou­s awards which reflect our commitment towards customers, especially as we face the Covid-19 pandemic. We are also indeed heartened for the continuous recognitio­n accorded to the role played by Eqhwan in leading AmBank Islamic and in the Islamic banking industry.”

“These accolades are a testament to our relentless effort in supporting our customers with banking solutions to meet their specific needs, which are even most pertinent during these challengin­g times,” added the group chief executive officer of AmBank Group, Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir.

Since its inception in 2011, The Global Banking and Finance Awards reflect the innovation, achievemen­t, strategy, progressiv­e and inspiratio­nal changes taking place within the Global Financial community. The awards were created to recognise companies of all sizes which are prominent in particular areas of expertise and excellence within the financial world.
