Closing date for Toastmasters VIYCC extended to Oct 8
KUCHING: The closing date for the one-day Virtual International Youth Communication Camp (VIYCC) organised by Kuching Toastmasters Club (KTC) for youths between 13 and 22 years has been extended to Oct 8, 2021.
According to its deputy organising chairman, Wee Pei Chia, the camp to be held via Zoom was in response to requests from parents and youths.
“We have been overwhelmed by the response so far and have increased the Zoom capacity for this first virtual camp which is an extension of previous face to face camps dating back to 2012,” he said.
Wee, an established Toastmaster and public speaking advocate, said the camp will commence Oct 9 at 9am with the opening address from YCC patron and state Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.
An intensive interactive programme covering elements of communication and public speaking, team bonding and talent showcasing have been planned for the camp which will conclude with contests and cash prizes.
