IAK re-elect Anthony president, awaits approval for its logo

KUCHING: The Indian Associatio­n Kuching (IAK) reelected one of its past presidents, Anthony Ramanair, to lead the associatio­n for the 2021 – 2024 term at its Triennial General Meeting (TGM) on October 10 held at Dewan IAK, Jalan Rock here.

Anthony who was the associatio­n’s president from 2003 to 2015 oversaw the building of the Dewan IAK during his term of office.

The TGM started with an address by the acting president Ratha Perumall who announced that after more than 70 years IAK finally will have its own logo which has been sent to the Register of Societies (ROS) for approval.

The logo was selected from submission­s in a Logo Competitio­n held recently.

He added that the TGM was supposed to be held by the end of March, but due to the Covid 19 pandemic it had to be postponed to Oct 10.

Ratha thanked the donors and helpers who contribute­d to IAK’s activities adding that because of the restrictio­ns imposed to

curb the spread of Covid-10 virus IAK had to cancel some of its activities and was only able to carry out just a few of its planned activities on a small scale.
