KUALA LUMPUR: Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) will be hosting the virtual Minggu Saham Digital (MSD), themed “#LaburBersama”, from Nov 17 to 23, 2021.

President and group chief executive Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn said last year, it received encouraging response to the maiden MSD with more than two million views on MSD’s official Facebook page and YouTube channel.

“We believe that while planning for your financial well-being is a serious matter, learning the ropes need not be.

“With the official theme #LaburBersama, MSD makes available various resources and educational materials on unit trust investments, risk and return, and financial planning for all Malaysians in the comfort of their own homes,” he said in his speech at the virtual pre-launch of MSD 2021.

He said PNB’s focus on creating value and generating long-term sustainable returns for its unit holders goes hand in hand with its commitment to raising financial literacy standards and empowering Malaysians to make better financial decisions for their future.

“With the same goal as its predecessor Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia, MSD remains as PNB’s integrated financial literacy platform to achieve this aim,” he added.

PNB’s corporate partners for MSD consist of three tiers. In the Rakan Premier category are Maybank Bhd, Sime Darby Plantation Bhd, and UMW Holdings Bhd.

In the Rakan Utama category are Sime Darby Bhd, Sime Darby Property Bhd, S P Setia Bhd, MIDF Bhd and Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sendirian Bhd (Perodua).

Meanwhile, MNRB Holdings Bhd, Duopharma Biotech Bhd, Velesto Energy Bhd and Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (Prolintas) are all in the Rakan category.

MSD is an evolution from Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia (MSAM) which was held physically for two decades from 2000 until 2019.

The digital event is now accessible to a much wider audience throughout the country.

MSD 2021 will be broadcast daily between 12.30 pm and 10 pm from Nov 17 to 23, 2021 through its official Facebook page and YouTube channel, featuring over 70 edutainment programmes and a series of talk shows and webinars.

Its official launch ceremony is scheduled for Nov 18, 2021 (the second day of MSD 2021) at 1 pm.
