Magnum shows it cares for needy students during pandemic
MIRI: Thirty needy students of Riam Road Secondary School (RRSS) received Magnum Academic Assistance Aid (AAA), a corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme by Magnum Group via Zoom.
Magnum’s CSR manager Aamelia Termizi explained that the AAA programme is Magnum’s way to ensure students receive adequate assistance to keep them motivated to face challenges during the pandemic.
“The pandemic has affected people in many ways. The students, while staying at home attending online classes, may actually lack of necessity as well as spiritually, that demotivated them to continue achieving academically.
“Therefore, MagnumCares is here to ensure that they get support throughout the learning process,” said Aamelia, adding that Magnum wishes all the students to continue to study and do well so that they could lead the country to a better future.
RRSS CEO Dr Pauline Ho was grateful to Magnum Group for its generosity in helping the students.
“Although the pandemic has disrupted the normal operations of most industry sectors including leisure sector like Magnum, they continue to remain proactive and keep up with its CSR earnestly.
“The value of empathy practised by Magnum Group through MagnumCares is a real example of a corporate firm demonstrating empathy. This connection established between Magnum and RRSS provides a way to create relationships based on trust, closeness and proactive behaviour,” she added.
