I am very encouraged that more and more NGOs are cropping up to help the community in Sabah, and Hope Place is always ready to share our experience and knowledge with other NGOs like Arms of Hope Sabah.

KUCHING: Hope Place Kuching has recently teamed up with a non-governmental organisation (NGO) in Kota Kinabalu to help the unprivileged and poor there.
Last weekend, a er two years, Hope Place founder Kelvin Wan was back in Kota Kinabalu to visit Arms of Hope Sabah in order to see their progress and to help in any way he could.
Wan, together with the Sabah NGO, not only delivered food aid and face masks to the unprivileged community in Kota Kinabalu, but also went to rural areas like Keningau, Nabawang and Tenom to interview new cases.
Malaysian Aeon Foundation had sponsored 100 packs of food aid to Arms of Hope Sabah to help the needy community, especially those affected by the pandemic, under its ‘Aeon Bersama Mu’ community programme.
The team was also joined by the Social Welfare Department in Tenom, where the department recommended a case to them there.
Arms of Hope Sabah also brought Wan to a few slums and squa er areas in Kota Kinabalu to distribute face masks, and had shared the conditions and struggles of the underprivileged community there.
Throughout his visit, Wan taught them skills in conducting interviews, assessing different cases and on delivery.
“I am very encouraged that more and more NGOs are cropping up to help the community in Sabah, and Hope Place is always ready to share our experience and knowledge with other NGOs like Arms of Hope Sabah.
“Hope Place is glad to team up with other NGOs. A er all it’s the underprivileged community which is the main focus. As long as you have the heart and willingness to learn, our doors are always open,” he said.
