Unvaccinated eligible voters have right to vote — Abdul Karim

-

KUCHING: Malaysian citizens who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19 should not be denied their right to vote , said Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice-president Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

“The right to vote is universal. If they are not vaccinated, we cannot stop them from voting. For me, they have the right to vote,” he said when met at a land compensation presentation event at Kampung Sambir yesterday.

“However, he hoped that all voters who are not vaccinated would get themselves vaccinated so that they won’t scare away those who have been vaccinated when they are queuing up on polling day.

Asked about Sarawakians outside the state coming back to vote, Abdul Karim said there were already standard operating procedures (SOPs) in place which they have to comply with and that it is not an issue.
