Pre-dawn fire destroys 60 pct of house’s ground floor
SIBU: A pre-dawn fire destroyed about 60 per cent of the ground floor of a two-storey house at Kampung Nangka here yesterday.
The Fire and Rescue Department here said 12 firefighters, led by senior fire officer Shahrulnizam, rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 1.27am
“When we arrived, the fire had already destroyed 60 per cent of the ground floor of the house,” said the department.
The operation ended at 2.15am after the situation had been brought under control.
The cause of the fire, as well as the amount of damage and the losses incurred, have yet to be ascertained. No injury was reported in the incident.
