Fazzrudin confident of retaining Tupong seat

-

KUCHING: Tupong incumbent Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman is confident that Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will retain the Tupong seat based on the track record of the coalition since he won the seat in 2016.

He said GPS has been helping the people and listening to their needs throughout the years and not just becoming active when the election is around the corner.

“Our elected representatives have been serving the people the moment they got elected, and even now, when I am no longer the YB (assemblyman) I am still active in serving the people and continue to carry out my duties,” he told reporters at the Agriculture Facilitation Fund (AFF) presentation at Kampung Pinang Jawa hall yesterday.

“If the people need a bridge, we GPS will meet with the federal government agency to get it done. This is what we do at all time, and not just near election time then get to work.”

When asked on the number of candidates he expects to face in defending the seat, he said he was uncertain.

“I am not sure (on number of candidates contesting in Tupong) as our focus is on our work, and focusing on strengthening GPS and PBB. And no matter who is contesting, we will face them and give our best, and explain to the community why GPS and PBB is the most suitable for Tupong,” he added.

Touching on the AFF, Fazzrudin said the programme which was implemented at the beginning of the year, was to identify those who are interested in urban farming by providing the equipment and machines

A total of 216 farmers received various machines and equipment during the function.
