Fallen tree damages roof of kitchen
SARIKEI: One of the kitchens at a longhouse (Rumah Biyan) in Kerangan Rian near Julau had its roof damaged after being hit by an uprooted tree.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident which occurred around 7am, said head of Bintangor Fire and Rescue Department Nicholas Belulin.
“We received a call 7.12am (Friday) and dispatched five men to the scene about 55km away,” he said, adding on arrival at the longhouse, they helped to cut off the tree trunk and branches.
“They ended the operation at 9.45am,” he added.
Three Sesco staff were also there to check the electricity wiring, he said.
